Question: How is legitimate participation stimulated? If it is stimulated in any way besides intrinsic motivation, is the participation "legitimate"? Quote: "Test taking then becomes a new parasitic practice, the goal of which is to increase the exchange value of learning independently of its use value." Comment: The practice of learning is continual and in motion, and may occur at the learners rate. Impeding the organic nature, or rushing the process may jeopardize the practice. As educators do we try to rush, or interrupt organic learning to meet standards? Epiphany: "...learning does not take intentional instruction to be in itself the source or cause of learning." I know this is a quote, but it is important to be reminded that intentional instruction is one element involved in learning. Quote:
